How many science labs exist in the current high school?

There are currently 8 science labs in the existing building. Only 2 of the 8 labs meet the MSBA space requirements. There are 12-13 rooms currently scheduled with science courses. Teachers have to “make do” with the space they have or swap classrooms with another teacher in order to conduct laboratories. The 4-5 additional rooms being used for science have low 2-person tables instead of regular classroom desks and chairs. Four of the rooms include a teacher demonstration bench with 1 sink. The final room does not have any plumbing. All of the rooms have been shared with other courses in different years as scheduling allows. Currently, there are 5 classes from other departments sharing science space when the science department is prepping.
