How were the Owner’s Project Manager (OPM) and architect selected?

PMA Consultants was selected utilizing Mass General Law and the MSBA’s OPM Selection Guidelines. The process included the Sharon Building Committee (SBC) issuing an OPM Request for Qualifications (RFQ) utilizing the MSBA RFQ standard OPM template. The RFQ was publicly advertisement locally and in the States Central Register for soliciting services. The Building Committee received and reviewed (9) OPM proposals. Proposals were evaluated and references were checked by the SBC. A complete package outlining the process, documents and RFQ responses were summarized and sent by the SBC to the MSBA. The SBC then interviewed (4) OPM firms and again evaluated the firms. PMA was chosen as highest ranked OPM. The OPM was then approved OPM by the MSBA at a publicly held Owner’s Project Manager Review Panel Meeting on May 7, 2018. Tappe Architects was selected utilizing Mass General Law and the MSBA’s Designer Selection Guidelines. The process included the Building Committee issuing an MSBA Standard RFQ with specific criteria added by the SBC. Similar to the OPM Selection Process, the RFQ was publicly advertisement locally and in the States Central Register for soliciting services. The SBC then sent (3) representatives to the MSBA Designer Selection Panel to review and finalize candidates for interview. The MSBA held a public Designer Selection Panel on July 24, 2019 where the MSBA and SBC Representatives chose Tappe Associates.
